apibrėžtis Technologas, dažniausiai dirbantis didelėse įmonėse, kurios kuria, gamina, parduoda, eksploatuoja ir atlieka techninę priežiūrą įvairių telekomunikacijų sričių, tokių kaip fiksuotasis laidinis ir radijo ryšys, judrusis korinis ryšys, palydovinis personalinis ryšys, naudojamų įtaisų, aparatų ir įrenginių. Jis turi išmanyti analoginių ir skaitmeninių grandynų, kompiuterijos ir programavimo, kompiuterinio modeliavimo dalykus. Gali specializuotis radijo bangų perdavimo sistemų įrengimo, techninės priežiūros ir modifikavimo, aukštadažnių telekomunikacijų sistemų taisymo, skaitmeninių ryšių sistemų įrengimo, techninės priežiūros ir modifikavimo srityse. Gali kalibruoti ir taisyti analoginius ir skaitmeninius grandynus, padėti telekomunikacijų inžinieriui įgyvendinant telekomunikacijų projektus. Gali dirbti gamintojų ir platintojų techniniais atstovais ryšių su klientais tarnybose.
